Fumi-log uses GPS to record the places you have walked and paints them onto a map as cells. Location data is collected in the background, even when the app is closed, because painting cells on the map is the app's core feature. You can stop recording at any time from Settings.
The app handles the following data. Unless you agree to a tourism study in section 3, all of it stays on your device only. • Location (latitude and longitude) • Treasures you have found • App settings • Your subscription status (Fumi-log Premium)
This data stays on your device until you delete it. Uninstalling the app, or using "Delete local data" in Settings, erases it completely.
All payment processing (card details and so on) is handled by the App Store. The app never receives your card details.
Fumi-log runs two tourism studies. Both are optional, and we only collect from people who agree. If you don't agree, this section does not apply to you.
[1. The inbound study] We ask visitors from overseas when they first start the app. We collect only what is recorded inside Japan, during the stay period you tell us.
[2. Local tourism studies] You join these by scanning a QR code handed out in a tourist area. Where you live does not matter. We collect only what is recorded inside Japan, from the moment you agree until you tap 'End survey'. If you forget, it ends on its own after 7 days. Nothing before you agree, and nothing after it ends.
